The Experience

We are a non-profit English center in Hanoi which is opened to help mostly children as well as students. We have been doing this for many years, until now it has been 4 - 5 years since we started, we did not have many helps from the volunteers because there are not volunteers here in Hanoi, Vietnam . So we hope that we can find some volunteers who is willing to help us with this.

If you had a great passion about teaching and education, I highly recommend this place to you. Prepare yourself, know what to bring on the table and everything will be fine. I have everything in my control (clean room with balcony and a sharing clean bathroom). the home's assistant cooked & prepared three different meals every day; Breakfast at 8 AM, Lunch at 1:00 to 1.30 PM and Dinner around 7-8 PM. I teach in small groups of children and one adult everyday on weekdays. the home and her staffs are very helpfull. I only stay for 1 month, I would love to come back here if she need me. Thank you the home.

It was my first workaway experience and I loved it! I'm so grateful. I teached adults and kids in small groups. I wasn't overwhelmed and English is not my first language. I got to interact with the socials in every way! I would totally recommend this! Thank you <3

This experience was challenging. Poor communication, room and shared Spaces were very dirty ( no one cleaned up in my 2 weeks stay). No one from the staff spoke a word in english so we did not connect even though i was eating with them. the home helped me when I was sick but apart from that we didnt communicate ( poor understanding and maybe not interested). Her fruit shop employees broke Into my room several times without asking, and stole my stuff. On the good side the kids were adorable and I miss thzm

Do not go here. The pictures are fake and it's not a proper school but an after school club. The communication with the host was horrible, the property was disgusting and not fit for people to live. The food was horrific, old food was left over and nobody ever cleaned. I didn't even bother staying the whole time because it was so traumatising

This was a terrible first experience to have…Nothing that you see in the photos is real, not even the building. The place is super dirty and a big mess. the home is super disorganized with your schedule and her english is kind of hard to understand. She is not very friendly and she didn't talk that much with me…I was hoping someone who could show me more about Vietnamese culture and it wasn't the case. I can't describe how gross the kitchen conditions are. Yes, if you want to visit the city you have plenty of time but I won't recommend staying here.
